DESCRIPTION

The SMARTer™ Pico Fluorescent Probe Amplification Kit combines SMART (Switching 

Mechanism At  5'  end  of  RNA Transcript)  technology  with  a  reliable  two-step  labeling 

procedure, allowing you to generate fluorescently labeled probes from as little as 1 ng of 

total RNA (equivalent to 10 cells). SMARTer probes made from small amounts of total RNA 

produce results that are comparable to those obtained from pure poly A

+

RNA—a clear 

advantage when only limited amounts of tissues or cells are available. Probes generated 

with  this  kit  may  be  used  with  any  oligonucleotide  or  cDNA-based  glass  microarray 

platform.
